Noble metal-free ultrasmall Mo2C nanoparticles embedded in N-doped holey carbon for electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction are reported. They exhibit highly efficient electrocatalytic activity comparable to Pt/C and an outstanding durability outperforming that of Pt/C.
