A facile method to synthesize graphene quantum dots (GQDs) with a diameter of 2.2 nm. GQDs were electrodeposited successfully on the surface of the Au electrode to fabricate the Au/GQDs/anti-CRP electrode. The figure of merits of the developed sensor with a high sensitivity of 58 μA ng−1 mL−1 cm−2 and a low detection capability of 0.104 ng mL−1. And also the fabricated Au/GQDs/anti-CRP biosensor was used to detect CRP (C-Reactive Protein) concentrations in a ringer lactate (artificial serum) solution.
