High step-up-coupled inductor SEPIC DC–DC converter with input current ripple cancellation

A high step-up coupled-inductor single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) DC–DC converter with input current ripple cancellation is presented in this study. The proposed converter is based on the structure of a SEPIC but also has a coupled inductor. In the proposed converter, two coupled inductors are used to increase the voltage gain and remove the input current ripple. The voltages of the main switch and all diodes are clamped to prevent high-voltage surges caused by the leakage inductance of the coupled inductor. Hence, a dissipative snubber circuit or an active clamping circuit is not required. As a result of the reduction of voltage stress, a MOSFET with low drain-to-source on-state resistance RDS(ON) can be used as the main switch. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed converter, a prototype converter with an input voltage of 24 V, an output voltage of 300 V, and output power of 100 W is implemented.
