The synthesis of organo-halides is of paramount importance due to their vast role as synthetic precursors in several organic reactions as well as the presence of carbon halogen bonds in numerous biomolecules and pharmaceuticals. Therefore, this review summarises the recent advancements in the field of first row TM-mediated C−H halogenation of (hetero)arenes and alkanes via bio-mimetic as well as directed and undirected approaches.
