Two-dimensional (2D) materials (graphene, MXene, and transition metal disulfides) have become increasingly important in the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and absorbing. This review includes the preparation strategies of 2D materials and their application in EMI shielding/absorbing fields. We outline fundamental knowledge for EMI shielding/absorbing and summarize recent progress of the synthetic routes of 2D nanostructures and their derived materials. The aims are to provide a reference and guide for precise design and preparation of EM protection materials.
