Morphology optimization of photoactive layers in organic solar cells

In this perspective, we summarized the commonly used strategies for morphology optimization of bulk-heterojunction donor/acceptor blend active layers of organic solar cells (OSCs), including the treatments of solvent/solid additive and thermal/solvent vapor annealing. Representative examples are provided and discussed to understand the mechanism of these treatments on tuning the aggregation and phase separation of photovoltaic materials for high-performance OSCs.
