Photoredox Catalysis Using Heterogenized Iridium Complexes**

Heterogenized iridium catalysts were synthesized to generate reusable, robust photoredox catalysts. The catalyst architecture, in nanopowder or thin film forms, was studied to see how it affected the catalytic performance on three different metal oxide surfaces. Reductive dehalogenation of bromoacetophenone to acetophenone was studied as the model photoredox reaction, and all catalysts showed successful product generation. Al2O3-based catalysts were found to be the most robust and reusable catalysts in both architectures, with at least ∼1000 turnovers and reusable three times.
