This review covers the latest research findings in synthetic methods and their corresponding applications of zeolitic imidazolate framework ZIF-7 (Zn(bim)2). This nanomaterial have gotten extensive attention attributed to its excellent properties such as good thermal and chemical stability, large specific area, “gate opening” mechanism and so on, which make ZIF-7 a potential material in hydrogen storage, adsorption and separation and other related aspects.
