Junyi Zhai Professor, Doctoral Supervisor Professor Junyi Zhai's Research Group，Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems
Junyi Zhai, male, obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Tsinghua University in July 2001 and his Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in July 2004. He then pursued further studies in the United States and obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech in February 2009. In April 2009, Dr. Zhai was awarded the Director's Postdoctoral Fellowship and conducted postdoctoral research at the Nanoscience Center of Los Alamos National Laboratory. His research mainly focuses on the preparation of piezoelectric, ferroelectric, and flexoelectric semiconductor materials, growth and characterization of epitaxial functional oxides, and the design and application of novel multifunctional electronic and optoelectronic devices, etc. To date, he has published over 150 research papers in well-known scientific journals such as Chemical Reviews, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Matter, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, and Applied Physics Letters, with over 11,000 citations and a h-index of 55. He has been granted 10 national invention patents and has given 18 presentations at major international conferences. Prof. Zhai has also been the principal investigator for major projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the National Laboratory Basic Research Project.

The research group focuses primarily on exploring novel effects of multi-field coupling among mechanical, electrical, and optical fields in semiconductor devices. The aim is to conduct in-depth investigations on the generation, separation, relaxation, and recombination processes of charge carriers at heterojunctions in semiconductors, as well as their correlation with multi-field coupling among mechanical, electrical, and optical fields.
