Baixing Wu Associate Professor RNA Modifications, Structural Biology
Sun Yat-sen University's "Hundred Talents Program" introduced talents. Currently, Baixing Wu is an associate professor at the Medical Research Center, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. In 2013, he graduated from Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, majoring in plant science and technology. From 2013 to 2018, he studied at Fudan University for a doctoral degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, engaged in biological macromolecular structural biology research. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Southern University of Science and Technology with Hongda Huang and Dinshaw J. Patel as his co-supervisors. The research work is mainly published in Nature Communications, Nucleic Acids Research, Molecular Plant, JBC, Journal of Virology, etc. as the first author/corresponding author.

Baixing Wu is mainly engaged in the structural biology research of nucleic acid-related proteins using X-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM technology, combined with biochemical and molecular biology methods. Including: 1) Catalysis and recognition mechanism of RNA/DNA modification; 2) Structure and function of diseases-related and non-coding RNA biogenesis associated RNA-binding proteins; 3) The DNA replication and damage repair; 4) The metabolic mechanism of nucleoside-modified nucleic acids.
