Hao WU Assistant Professor, PI Solar Energy and Environmental Catalysis Lab (SEECAT)
Dr. WU is an Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). He received his Ph.D. from Dr. Yun Hau NG and Australian Research Council Laureate Professor Dr. Rose AMAL in Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales in 2019. After a research visit at Tokyo Institute of Technology, He moved to City University of Hong Kong (2019-2021) for postdoctoral positions. His research is to develop functional thin-films and heterostructures for solar energy and environmental catalysis applications at the intersection of chemistry, applied physics, quantum mechanics and materials science. He has authored (as the first/corresponding author) publications in highly-ranked international peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Energy Letters, Advanced Functional Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Small, Solar RRL, Chemical Engineering Science, etc. He is currently acting as the Academic Editor of the Journal of Energy, a new journal that aims to advance energy science and technology, and the Editor Board of Chemical Engineering Journal, Molecular Catalysis, and Frontiers in Chemistry. He has been involved in writing successful grants and secured research funding.

Our SEECAT research focuses on solar energy conversion and storage through nanocatalysis. Our research is an interdisciplinary study connecting chemistry, physics, and material science. Our mission is to understand how nanoscale and crystal structure influence function. We are passionate work on sustainability and energy research as our social responsibility and for future generations. We aim that pollutants can be "recycled" to produce green fuels in the future.
