RAN DU Professor MSE of Beijing Institute of Technology
He obtained a PhD degree from the college of chemistry and molecular engineering, Peking University in 2016 (Advisor: Prof. Jin Zhang). From 2016, he served as postdoctoral researcher in Nanyang Technological University (Advisor: Prof. Xiaodong Chen), TU Dresden (as a Humboldt scholar, advisor: Alexander Eychmüller), and Zhejiang Institute of Research and Innovation as well as University of Hong Kong (Advisor: Prof. Zhengxiao Guo). He joined Beijing Institute of Technology as a principal investigator in 2021. His previous and ongoing research include 1) controlled synthesis of metal hydrogels/aerogels, 2) controlled synthesis of nanocarbon hydrogels/aerogels, 3) controlled synthesis of conducting/coordination polymer hydrogels/aerogels, and 4) applications in electrocatalysis and smart materials. He has published more than 40 papers on Nature Communications, Science Advances, Matter, Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie, etc., and serve as a reviewer for more than 20 journals such as Advanced Materials and ACS Nano.
