Man Pan Associate Professor

Man Pan is now an associate professor at the Institute of Translational Medicine, Shanghai Jiaotong University. From 2008 to 2012, he studied pharmacy at Shandong University (Weihai) as an undergraduate; from 2012 to 2017, he studied at Tsinghua University for his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Lei Liu, and his main research direction is protein synthesis chemistry; After completing his Ph.D., Man Pan joined the group of Prof. Minglei Zhao at the University of Chicago as a postdoctoral fellow, engaged in single-particle cryo-electron microscopy research. He started his independent research at Shanghai Jiaotong University in October 2021. The research group is dedicated to analyzing the molecular mechanism of protein quality control mediated by ubiquitin-protein machinery through chemical-biological technologies such as protein synthesis chemistry, proteomics, and cryo-electron microscopy, and to promoting the development of TPD drugs. He has published more than 30 SCI papers, of which 14 papers are the first author/corresponding author, including 1 Nature, 2 Nat Struct Mol Biol, 1 Nat Chem Biol, 1 Nat Protoc, 1 Chem, 2 Nat Commun, 3 J Am Chem Soc, 3 Angew Chem Int Ed, 1 CCS Chem, 1 Adv Sci, and holds two authorized Chinese invention patents.
