Sustainable & Bioinspired Materials Lab
Xiangyu Liang is a distinguished researcher fellow (PI) at the Bio-inspired Materials Center of the Shenzhen Institute of Genomics (AGIS), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). He was selected for the "Excellent Young Talent" honor of CAAS, and "Peacock Talent" honor of Shenzhen city. He obtained his master and PhD degree from the Department of Polymer Science and the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Engineering of Polymers at Fudan University (under the supervision of Professor Ding Jiandong), and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow and senior research scholar at the Southern University of Science and Technology (with associate professor Liu Ji as his cooperative advisor). In 2022, he joined the Bio-inspired Materials Center of AGIS. He mainly focus on the fields of bio-inspired materials design and manufacturing for tissue engineering, soft robots, biomedical devices, sustainable and durable substitute. In recent years, he has published more than 20 papers and 3 Chinese invention patents, mainly in international authoritative journals such as Nature Communication, Advanced Materials, JACS, Matter, Cell Reports Physical Science, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS nano, Small, Biofabrication, et al. Among them, 6 papers were selected as the cover of the journal, 2 papers were selected as ESI highly cited papers, 1 paper was selected as Shenzhen Excellent scientific and technological paper, 1 paper was selected to feature in “Editors Choice-2023” collection of CRPS and the relevant research results were reported by many domestic and foreign media. He is currently in charge of National Natural Science Foundation-Youth Fund, CAAS Innovation project major project, Guangdong provincial Natural Science Foundation (Youth Project), Hunan provincial Natural Science Foundation (Youth Project) and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Talents Training Project, and participates in key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, general projects of the Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, general projects of the Shenzhen Natural Science Foundation, and international scientific and technological cooperation projects of Shenzhen. He has won the Outstanding Youth Academic Report at China Materials Conference, Excellent Poster Award at the Chinese Biomaterials Conference, Third prize of Shenzhen Science and Technology Competition, Shenzhen Excellent Scientific and Technological Paper Award, Outstanding Postdoctoral Award of Shenzhen City, Outstanding Postdoctoral Award of Southern University of Science and Technology, Outstanding Graduate of Fudan University, Excellent Doctoral Academic Scholarship of Fudan University, and National Scholarship. Currently, a member of the International Association of Bionic Engineering, a senior member of the Chinese Society of Biomaterials, a member of the Young Editorial Board of the <MedMat>, <Journal of Bionic Engineering> and <Exploration>, and Guest Editor of <Polymers>.
