We study the fundamental mechanisms of photon-to-electron conversion in Semiconductor Physics and Photoelectrochemistry. We synthesize a variety of semiconductor materials for applications in solar-fuels conversion, photovoltaics, and photodetection. Expertise in time-resolved and in-situ spectroscopies and other physical methods permit us to define critical phenomena, which in turn guide us in the further design for new materials and devices with targeted applications.
