Shuangjie Chu Distinguished Professor High performance materials and advanced manufacturing research group
Dr. Shuangjie Chu has engaged in the research and innovation of metallurgical technologies and industrialization of new steels for a long period of time. He has done pioneering works and gained remarkable achievements in areas including grain-oriented electrical silicon steels (GOES), high-grade non-oriented electrical silicon steels (NOES), cold-rolled automotive steels, and special steels. Over the years, Dr. Chu and his team have dedicated to the research and development of GOES, NOES, cold rolled automotive steels, and special steels. The annual profit tax of these products resulted from his efforts is beyond 10 billion Yuan. He was the recipient of many distinguished awards including the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award for one time and the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award for another time. He was the winner of 2 Special Prize and 6 First Prize of Ministerial and Provincial-Level Science and Technology Awards. He was also awarded with the Gold Medal of National Invention Exhibition of China. His productive research career has produced over 115 peer reviewed journal publications and 1 book, together with 31 invention patents. He has been the mentor of a large number of graduate students and technology talents. He has made remarkable contribution on establishing the leading position of China’s GOES and automotive steels in the global steel industry.
