收稿范围
The Journal of Organometallic Chemistry targets original papers (Articles) dealing with theoretical aspects, structural chemistry, synthesis, physical and chemical properties (including reaction mechanisms), and practical applications of organometallic compounds.

Organometallic compounds are defined as compounds that contain significant metal - carbon interactions. The term metal includes all alkali and alkaline earth metals, all transition metals and the lanthanides and actinides in the Periodic Table. Metalloids including the elements in Group 13 and the heavier members of the Groups 14 - 16 are also included. The term chemistry includes syntheses, characterizations and reaction chemistry of all such compounds. Research reports based on use of organometallic complexes in bioorganometallic chemistry, medicine, material sciences, homogeneous catalysis and energy conversion are also welcome.

New Directions.

In recent years chemistry has been moving toward the study of larger and more complex molecules and materials. Studies of organometallic compounds are also growing in size and complexity and in their applications. Today, much research is being focused on nanoscale chemicals and materials. Going forward the Journal of Organometallic Chemistry is now going to include reports in these new areas. Areas that have been recognized as important in these new directions include: Bioorganometallic chemistry, Nanoscale organometallics, Organometallic Polymers and Macromolecules and Metal Nanoparticles for Catalysis and Electrocatalysis and Organometallic Materials with novel physical and photo-properties.

Bioorganometallics include compounds and materials that have the potential for important bioactivities including antibiotics, anticancer, antimicrobials, antivirals, antimalarials and cytotoxicity and other drug treatment areas.

Nanoscale Organometallics include metal compounds, clusters and metal nanoparticles combined with nanocarbon materials including polycyclic aromatics, buckyballs and fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, nanographenes and graphene oxides and -nitrides.

Metal Nanoparticles for Catalysis and Electrocatalysis include metal nanoparticles on nanocarbon supports have been shown to exhibit interesting properties for the catalytic synthesis of organic compounds including the oxidation and reduction of important small molecules.
Organometallic Polymers and Macromolecules. Interest in organometallic polymers with the metal atoms embedded in the polymer and metal-containing groups supported on carbon chains. Some organometallic polymers exhibit photo-properties that may be useful in the development of solar cells or other photo applications.

The scope of the journal has been enlarged to encompass important research on organometallic complexes in bioorganometallic chemistry and material sciences, and of heavier main group elements in organometallic chemistry. The journal also publishes review articles, short communications and notes.
