Editor-in-Chief: Vladimir Ya. Shevchenko EDITORIAL BOARD EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Vladimir Ya. Shevchenko, Dr. Sci. (Chem.), I. V. Grebenshchikov Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint-Petersburg, Russia Academician V.Ya. Shevchenko is a member of the Bureau of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Presidium of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center RAS. Academician V.Ya. Shevchenko is the Chairman of the Scientific Council on Ceramic Materials RAS, Chairman of the National Commission on Glass, Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Physics and Chemistry of Glass", member of the Scientific and Technical Council of the State Corporation Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (GC "Rosnanotech"). V.Ya.Shevchenko is a member of the Permanent Executive Committee of the European Ceramic Society, the International Federation on Ceramics, the International Commission on Glass, the World Academy of Ceramics, and the President of the Russian Ceramic Society. Academician V.Ya.Shevchenko is the author of monographs: "Introduction to technical ceramics", "Technical ceramics", etc. V.Ya. Shevchenko was awarded by the Order of Honor and the Order of Friendship, was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for the work "Scientific foundations for creating a new generation of biocompatible materials based on calcium phosphates for wide application in medical practice", the USSR State Prize for the development of new semiconductor materials, medals S.I. Mosin and N.N. Semenov, he was awarded by the Prize P.S. Kapitsa and by I.V. Grebenshchikov. For the series of works in the fundamental and applied fields on "Structural Chemistry of the nanoworld" was awarded by Prize D.I. Mendeleev in the field of chemical sciences, which founded by the Government of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Scientific Center RAS. For fruitful work during many years in the European Ceramic Society V.Ya. Shevchenko has awarded the honorary title "Fellow of ECerS" (2015). He is the Honorary Professor of St. Petersburg State Technological Institute (technical university) (2016) and the Honorary Professor of the Ariel University (Israel) (2017). V.Ya. Shevchenko obtained the pioneering results in the field of chemistry and technology of semiconductor substances AIIBV, which laid the foundation for their implementation in the new technique. V.Ya. Shevchenko was the author of the breakthrough № 196 (USSR) of the structural dependence of semiconductor-metal transitions, which allowed predicting new semiconductor materials. He formulated and experimentally confirmed the fundamentals of the dissociative theory of destruction under extreme stresses, which made it possible to create products of special techniques widely used in practice. Remarkable results were obtained in the study of structural chemistry of the nanostate. These works have received wide recognition in our country and abroad. At the present time V.Ya. Shevchenko develops the physicochemical basis of the reaction-diffusion processes of morphogenesis, which determine the topochemical processes of the formation of three times periodic surfaces of minimal energy, which makes it possible to create "physical" cell structures. The works of V.Ya. Shevchenko have a priority, original character, and a great importance for practice. Fields of interests: structural chemistry of nanostate, new biomaterials, nanoparticles, nanostructures and nanocomposites; physicochemistry and technology of technical ceramics.
