Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte / History of Science and Humanities is devoted to the history of science in the broad German sense of the term “Wissenschaft”: The journal is open to national and international original articles on all areas of the history of science and humanities, and neighboring subjects and thereby strives to contribute to an integrated history that encompasses the natural sciences as well as the humanities and the social sciences. The history of science is a dynamic field, characterized not least by constantly productive work on the boundaries of its own object. During past decades, it has thus opened up many new areas of study: from fields previously excluded from the history of science as “pseudoscience”, such as alchemy, to the “artisanal knowledge” of early modern craftsmen, to the humanities and the social sciences. Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte / History of Science and Humanities actively contributes to this productive dynamic by providing a forum for discussion through thematic special issues.
