Z. Conrad Zhang National Distinguished Professional, Professor
Professor Zongchao (Conrad) Zhang received his PhD in 1988 from University of Connecticut and was a Research Assistant Professor of Catalysis Center of Northwestern University, Senior Chemist of Johnson Matthey Company, Principal Scientist of Akzo Nobel Company and the head of an innovative research group, Chief Scientist of the U.S. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and a member of Founding management team of KiOR Company. He took the full Thousand Talent Professorship position in Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics in 2013 and was the Group Leader of Biomass Conversion Group (DNL0602). In 2022, he received the invitation from Changzhou University and work as group leader here. His research is mainly on chemical catalysis and biomass conversion research. He has been the editor of Chinese Journal of Catalysis since 2014 and the editor of the Springer book series “Green Chemistry and Sustainable Technology” since 2013. He has over 150 papers in international peer reviewed journals including Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and over 90 patents including 20 PCT. Citation: > 7400, H index: 40. He was selected as one of highly cited chinese researchers in biomass by Elsevier, 2020.
