Jingxiang Yang
Professor (Tenure Track)
Jingxiang Yang received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Nanjing Tech University in 2011, after which he began doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering at the National Engineering Research Center of Industrial Crystallization Technology at Tianjin University under the supervision of Professors Qiuxiang Yin and Yongli Wang. Shortly after he earned the Ph.D. degree in 2017, he worked as a postdoctoral associate with Professors Bart Kahr and Michael D. Ward at New York University. He is currently Professor at Nankai University, focusing on the interactions between pesticides crystals and target organisms. By improving understanding of the interface between crystallography and biology, his group aim to provide more efficient protection for plants while minimizing environmental impact.
Many of his works were highlighted in The New York Times, The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Chemical & Engineering News (ACS), EurekAlert!(AAAS), Chemistry World (RSC), phys.org, NYU News, ScienceDaily. He had been awarded the Best Presentation Award at Gordon Research Conference-Crystal Engineering in 2018. During the past five years, he had 21 papers published in Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A., Angew. Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc., etc., based on which, he has applied for three U.S. patents.
