Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most lethal type of brain tumor. GBM displays striking cellular heterogeneity and hierarchy within a tumor containing a fraction of stem cell-like cancer cells called glioma stem cells (GSCs) at the apex of hierarchy. GSCs are responsible for tumor initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance. Our group focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that control the self-renewal of GSCs, and the interplay between the GSCs and tumor microenvironment.
