Professor Liu's research interests include the investigation of glycosylation reaction mechanisms and methodology development, synthesis of bioactive natural products, polysaccharides and glycoconjugates, chemical glycobiology, medicinal chemistry, and bioengineering applications of carbohydrate chemistry.
