Huanyu Jin PI Electrocatalytic Materials and Devices Group
Prof. Jin earned his PhD from The University of Adelaide (UoA) in 2020 and is currently a Professor at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His interdisciplinary approach combines theoretical predictions, experimental validations, in situ characterizations, and computational interpretations to bridge the gap between the fundamental understanding of heterogeneous catalysis and the development of high-performance catalysts. The goal is to achieve fundamental innovation and technological breakthroughs in electrocatalysis, enabling the sustainable production of key commodity chemicals. The expected outcomes of his research include a new understanding of complex interface electrocatalysis, rational design of reaction-targeted nanomaterials, and commercially relevant integrated electrolysis.

Green and sustainable supply of fuels and chemicals plays a crucial role in achieving net zero for 2050. Our group focuses on developing clean energy technologies for environmental sustainability by converting renewable electricity into value-added fuel and chemicals through electrocatalysis, including HER, OER, ORR, CRR, NRR. Outcomes will address frontier research challenges of electrocatalysts and help to develop efficient renewable energy technologies.
