Biomimetic Artificial Tetrachromatic Photoreceptors Based on Fully Light-Controlled Two-Dimensional Transistors

This work presents a biomimetic tetrachromatic optoelectronic WSe2 transistor.
The device features a unique UV light-activated surface electron doping layer, enabling the fully light-controlled bidirectional synaptic excitation and inhibition. The device can mimic the biological behaviors of tetrachromatic animals and benefit intelligent collision detection tasks from its in-sensor processing capability, which provides a low-cost, energy-efficient, and low-latency solution for future artificial machines.
