Our group are mainly focused on complex liquid, also known as soft matter, which represents a phase of matter intermediate between solids and liquids. And our research encompasses the fundamental properties and potential applications of various soft matter systems, including supramolecular polymers, lyotropic liquid crystals, and colloids.

Complex liquid and self-assembly group
I mainly engage in the research of physical chemistry in complex liquids and soft substances such as aqueous solutions and liquid crystals. My research utilizes synchrotron X-ray experimental techniques to gain a microscopic understanding of self-assembly behaviors and to develop X-ray scattering experimental setups and data processing methods. Some of the key research achievements include the investigation of hydrophobic effects at nanoscale in aqueous solutions, the multilevel self-assembly structures of low-molecular-weight compounds, and liquid crystal phases. I have published over 40 articles in journals such as Physical Review Letters, Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, and Soft Matter. I have been in charge of several research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Foundation Projects, General Projects, Joint General Projects, and international (regional) cooperation and exchange projects. Besides scientific research I am also involved in the design and construction of BL07, Multiscale Spatiotemporal Resolved Resonant Coherent Scattering Beamline at HALF (Hefei Advanced Light Source, a 4th generation light source under-construction), in charge of the experimental end-station for Tender X-ray scattering.
