Gengwen Tan

Gengwen Tan was born in Jiangxi, China in 1987. He obtained his bacholor and master degrees in 2008 and 2011 from Xiamen University, respectively. Afterwards, he went to Technische Universität Berlin, Germany to pursuit his doctorate degree in the group of Prof. Matthias Driess, and got his PhD in 2015. Then he received a fellowship from International Postdoctoral Program of Chinese Scholarship Council and joined the research group of Prof. Xinping Wang in Nanjing University as a postdoc fellow, and stayed as an associate professor later on. In 2019, he started his independ research as a Professor in Soochow University, and moved to Sun Yat-sen University in 2023. He has been working on low-coordinate and low-valent main group chemistry and main group elements-based radicals. He has coauthored more than 60 research papers in peer reviewed international journals, including Nat. Chem., JACS, Angew. Chem., Chem, Natl. Sci. Rev., etc.
