Biomimetic Ion Channels and Energy Applications
Jun Gao is a professor at Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the leader of the Interface Bionics Engineering Research Group at the Bionic Energy Interfacial Technology Research Center. He is engaged in the research of biomimetic ion transport materials and energy applications, and is committed to the construction of highly selective biomimetic ion channels and the development of their applications in the fields of negative energy treatment of wastewater, lithium extraction, and petroleum production enhancement. Jun Gao received his B.S. degree in Physics from Shandong University in 2009, Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014, supervised by Prof. Lei Jiang, and postdoctoral fellowship at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern University, USA, 2014-2016, supervised by Prof. Jiaxing Huang, and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Twente, The Netherlands, 2017-2019, supervised by Prof. Frieder Prof. Mugele. He joined Qingdao Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020.
