A first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree with honours in materials science, chemistry, engineering or a related discipline relevant for the proposed area of research, such as materials, catalysis, separation engineering, battery, or chemistry. Scientific programming (e.g. in Matlab, Python, or Fortran) and excellent English written/spoken skills are a plus.
Research Topics:
1. Design and synthesis of porous materials, heterostructures, 2D materials, and micro/nano devices: metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), porous-organic polymers (POPs), hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs), zeolites, MXenes, Graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), etc.
2. Clean energy applications: gas separation, biomass conversion, single-atom catalysis, hydrogen storage, gas separation membranes, photoreduction of CO2, biomedical engineering, etc.
