杨冠青于2021年在安徽大学获得化学博士学位。2021年作为特别研究助理加入中国科学院长春应用化学研究所陈学思院士课题组。已在Angewandte Chemie International Edition、Acta Biomaterialia、Journal of Colloid and Interface Science、Chemical Communications、Biosensors and Bioelectronics等国际高影响力学术期刊上发表多篇研究论文,申请国家发明专利2 项。
