Ivan Zhang Professor PhD supervisor
Chunshun Zhang is a Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, Wuhan University. He earned his doctorate from the University of Sydney, Australia, and has held positions at Monash University in Australia, including postdoctoral researcher, lecturer, and senior lecturer. His research focuses primarily on the constitutive modeling of geomaterials, rock mechanics, and engineering. He has led several prestigious projects, including the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (52278367), two projects funded by the National Key Laboratory, and interdisciplinary team construction and nurturing funds from central universities, along with multiple grants in Australia. In recent years, he has published over 30 high-impact SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author, and has received awards such as the Best Paper Award from the top journal in geotechnics, "Géotechnique," and the George Stephenson Award from the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK. He serves as an executive director of the 6th Council of the Wuhan Society for Rock and Soil Engineering, a director of the Underground Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, an expert of the Youth Expert Committee of the China Road Construction Industry Association, a young editorial board member of the "China Journal of Highway and Transport," and an editor of the CAS Zone 1 journal "Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.”
