xianguang Yang Associate Professor of Jinan University Assistant to the Dean of the Institute of Nanophotonics Jinan University|Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Nano Optical Manipulation
Personal profile Yang Xianguang, male, associate professor of Jinan University, assistant to the dean of the Institute of Nanophotonics. He was admitted to Sun Yat-sen University in 2008, and was selected into the physics base class the following year. After graduating from his undergraduate degree in 2012, he was recommended to enter the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technology to directly study for a doctorate. During the doctoral period, under the careful guidance of the supervisor Professor Li Baojun (Cheung Kong Scholar, National Outstanding Youth), he carried out research on the photoelectric characteristics of luminescent quantum dots and flexible nanowires, and successfully developed micro-nano light sources, optical waveguides, and optical detectors. As the first author, he published 6 papers in the JCR I area of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Nanoscale, ACS Photonics, Nanophotonics, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, ACS Macro Letters and other journals. Among them, the nanowire photodetector was selected by the editor as the cover paper (Nanoscale 2016); the micro-nano light source (ACS Macro Lett. 2014) was cited by the review paper written by the vice president of the Australian Academy of Sciences, Tanya Monro, on Laser & Photonics Reviews: Luminescence Quantum dots are doped into the resonator to achieve active laser lasing; nanowire optical waveguide (ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2014) was published by Professor Yuen-Ron Shen, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences, on Light: Science & Applications The citation states: It is expected to realize multifunctional ultra-compact nanophotonics applications. After graduating with a Ph.D. in December 2016 (half a year ahead of schedule), he was selected into the Guangdong High-Level University Construction Talents Introduction Plan, and joined the Institute of Nanophotonics of Jinan University full-time to engage in teaching and research work. In October 2019, he was promoted to an associate professor, and his main research direction is nano Photonics materials and devices, long-term commitment to the research of nanowire optical waveguide and photodetection. He applied for 5 national invention patents, and was invited to give reports at important academic conferences at home and abroad for 5 times, including 3 invited reports (2017 Chinese Optical Society Academic Conference; Interphotonics 2018; 2019 Optoelectronic Materials and Devices Strategic Forum). Presided over 5 projects including the National Youth Science Foundation Project, the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation Project, and the Guangzhou Science Research Plan Project, with a total funding of 1.2 million.
