Chenyi Yi Group: Solar energy conversion and storage laboratory

Chenyi Yi Professor (Associate) at Tsinghua University Perovskite solar cells and other optoelectronic devices

Prof.Yi is currently an PI & associate professor of Department of electrical engineering, Tsinghua University. In 2010, he received a PhD degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland. Later, he joined the photon and interface Laboratory of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he focused on dye-sensitized cells and perovskite solar cells under the guidance of Michael Graetzel. In 2017, he joined the Department of electrical engineering,Tsinghua University as an associate professor and doctoral supervisor. Prof. Yi has made a series of significant researchs in field of solar cells. He has published more than 60 papers in journals such as Science, Joule, Science advances with citation of more than 15000 times.

We are striving to realize the large scale utilization of solar energy in a cost efficient way by developing new materials and optimizing the interfaces of different functional layers in the solar cells. We are also trying extend the application senarios of the solar cells by developing high efficiency semi-transparent solar cells and flexible solar cells.
