Changchun Zhou Professor, doctoral supervisor Changchun Zhou Lab at CUMT
Prof. Changchun Zhou, is Doctor of Engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor. was born in 1972. He has been served as vice president and secretary of the Party Committee of school of Chemical Engineering & Technology since 2012. Prof. Changchun Zhou has further won the New Century Excellent Talents Award of the Ministry of Education and Six Talent Peaks Project Award of Jiangsu Province. Senior visiting scholar of Pennsylvania State University in the United States and visiting scholar of the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. Member of youth working committee of China Coal Association, and Editorial board of textbook College Chemistry. He has undertaken and fulfilled a number of national scientific research projects in the field of removal of trace elements and recovery of key metals in coal measures, including one incubation project of Major Research plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one general project of NSFC, one sub-project of National Key Basic Research Program of China, and a dozen other projects. In the past five years, he has published two books and more than 40 academic papers with h-index 13, including a ESI highly cited paper.

The Chinese team has been focusing on the pollution prevention of heavy metals and the extraction of valuable metals for a long term, with coal, gangue, fly ash, wastewater, municipal waste as research objects. Taking coal as an example, the migration mechanism of trace elements in coal during washing and combustion is comprehensively studied; the release pattern of trace elements on the water rock interface is analyzed by thermodynamic and kinetic methods.
