个人简介
Gavin Miller was born in Newport, Wales and read Chemistry at UMIST where he was awarded an MChem. Continuing his studies at the University of Manchester, Gavin undertook a PhD in carbohydrate chemistry, investigating multivalency. He then undertook post-doctoral research positions at Brown University, Providence, USA and at St Andrews University, UK. Gavin then moved to industry, firstly at Ferring, on the design of new treatments for primary dysmenorrhea and secondly at Peakdale Molecular on the design of an anti-nicotine vaccine. Gavin returned to academia and the University of Manchester in 2009, firstly as a PDRA in the MIB on the chemical synthesis of heparan sulfate oligosaccharides and secondly as a fixed-term lecturer in 2013, within the School of Chemistry.
