The Baik group is broadly interested in transition metal chemistry with a heavy emphasis on catalysis. Based on large-scale computer simulations, mechanisms of how transition metal systems can activate small molecules are investigated in detail. Of particular interest are water oxidation, carbon dioxide reduction and C-C/C-H bond activation in small organic molecules.
