On the blink: The structural switching dynamics of nucleic acids between hairpin loop and stem structures were investigated at the single-molecule level by kinetic analysis based on the control of fluorescence blinking (KACB). Fast blinking is observed for a fluorophore at a hairpin loop, whereas blinking is slow when the fluorophore is buried in a stem.
