A dual-responsive DNAzyme-powered entropy-driven reaction circuit (Dz-EDR) was proposed for selective and efficient microRNA imaging with high signal gain and ultralow background. Only under the stimulation of endogenous cancerous mRNA, the DNAzyme amplifier was activated to liberate EDR reactants (fuel strands) for powering the downstream EDR-amplified detection of target microRNA.
