During his time at SJTU, Jesse has been working on a number of projects both with collaborators at SJTU and with international collaborators. Through these projects, Jesse has learned many new research skills and grown as a scientist. Jesse has done excellent work, which has resulted in 3 first author papers that have been published and 6 co-author papers (4 of which are in the submission stage). Jesse has also been the first person to lead a Dark Energy Survey paper (he’s done 2) while being at SJTU. In addition to Jesse’s research, he’s taken an active role in the department, mostly through our membership in DESI. For the past three years, Jesse has organized the remote observing effort at SJTU, which has allowed for many of the graduate students, faculty, and postdocs to participate in remote observing during the pandemic. Jesse also co-lead the Zu Group Astrocoffee for 2 years. Jesse has also been actively involved in collaboration service for DESI, service on the 1st secondary target TAC and co-leading the galaxy cluster working group. Additionally, at the recent Guoshoujing Symposium on Galaxies and Cosmology Jesse received an award for best oral presentation.
