On October 4th, Stanford University and the Elsevier Data Repository released “October 2023 data-update for ‘Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators’” with the list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists” (sixth edition).  Dr. Yao was selected into the list .

    This list, published by Professor John P.A. Loannidis' team at Stanford University and Mendeley Data of Elsevier, is based on the Scopus database and scored using metrics for six key factors: 1) citations;   2) HirschH-index;   3) co-authorship adjusted Hm-index;   4) independent authorship;   5) independent or first authorship;   and 6) citations to papers in different authorship positions. The world's top 2% scientists are selected from more than 7 million researchers worldwide.   Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields, and 210,198 scientists are included in all fields.
