In July 2023, under the auspices of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Sino-German cooperation and exchange project (Mobility M-0172: Multiscale tests, simulation, optimization and 3D printing of UHPFRC materials and structures), Professor Yang Zhenjun led a team, which included Associate Professor Chi Yin and Researcher Huang Le, to visit the project partner, Professor Gunther Meschke, Vice President of Ruhr University Bochum in charge of research and technology transfer, and a member of the German Academy of Sciences and Engineering and the European Academy of Sciences. Both sides conducted a two-day academic discussion, exchange, and networking event around the research themes related to the project. Each of the three members of the visiting team and five members of the German team gave a one-hour scientific lecture and engaged in thorough and enthusiastic discussions. They also visited the university's structural testing hall to investigate its advanced experimental equipment and sound management system. During their stay in Germany, the team also participated in a half-day seminar at Siegen University with Professor Zhang Chuanzeng's research group, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, and visited the nearby Universities of Münster, Wuppertal, Duisburg-Essen, and Dortmund. This not only broadened their horizons but also facilitated academic exchanges with relevant professors and research groups, reaching preliminary research cooperation intentions.
