On November 18, 2024, Prof. M. Kevin Brown from Indiana University Bloomington visited ICCAS. At 10:00 AM, he delivered a lecture on molecular science titled 'Building Bonds with Boron' in the 5-100 conference room, chaired by Prof. Wei You.
Prof. Brown also engaged in a meeting with our research group in the 3-314 conference room. Prof. You introduced to Prof. Brown the latest progress of our group in areas such as post-polymerization functionalization, coordination polymerization, development of polyolefin-based dielectric materials, development of anion exchange membrane materials, alkaline anion exchange membrane electrolysis technology, and the synthesis of the novel elastomers and biodegradable materials derived from functional monomer polymerization. Prof. Brown discussed the scientific mechanisms of the aforementioned topics with us, and kindly offered valuable comments and suggestions for the future research directions. Subsequently, under the guidance of Prof. You, Prof. Brown toured our laboratory and the public experimental platform of the Engineering Plastics Laboratory.
In addition to discussing scientific progress, Prof. Brown also kindly shared his research experiences with the students of our group, narrated his impressions of Chinese culture, promoted cultural exchange between both sides.
