Our group members attended the 8th Tokyo Conference on Advanced Catalytic Science and Technology (TOCAT8)

The Tokyo Conference on Advanced Catalytic Science and Technology (TOCAT) is an important international conference in catalysis field started from 1990 and is held every four years in a city of Japan. The 8th Tokyo Conference on Advanced Catalytic Science and Technology (TOCAT8) has just been held in Yokohama, the first harbor city opened to the world as the entrance to Japan in 1859, on August 5-10, 2018. About 1000 participants have attended the conference. The objective of this conference is to provide a platform for presentations and discussions related to catalysis and catalytic reactions for both academic and industry researchers. The scope includes new concepts for catalysis, advanced materials for catalysis, fundamentals and characterization, green & sustainable catalysis, energy conversion, methane conversion, environmental catalysis, photocatalysis, selective oxidation, biocatalysis, and reactor engineering etc.

Four representatives, Prof. Ye Wang, Prof. Qinghong Zhang, Dr. Jincan Kang, Dr. Kang Cheng from our group attended this conference. Prof. Wang was invited to give a keynote lecture with a theme of “Development of new syngas conversion routes beyond Fischer-Tropsch synthesis”. The lecture attracted much attention. Dr. Cheng gave an oral presentation on “Design of bifunctional catalysts for the direct conversion of carbon dioxide into lower olefins and aromatic”. We also presented four posters, which included syngas conversion, biomass conversion, selective oxidation of lower alkanes, and photocatalytic conversion of methanol to ethylene glycol.
