Dr. Xin Tao was born in Jilin province. He obtained his bachlor degree in 2009 at Central China Normal University. Then he moved back to his hometown to pursue his doctorate at Jilin University under the supervision of Prof. Ying Mu, where his research interest focus on organometallic olefin polymerization catalysis.  After obtained his doctorate in July 2014, he then moved to Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC), CAS working with Prof. Xuequan zhang as a postdoc in the the same city. In March 2015, Xin moved to the Erker group in Universität Münster, Germany to do his seceond postdoc research work, where his research interest focused on the main group elemental Frustrated Lewis pair （FLP） chemistry. He had reported strongly electrophilic borane induced single eletron transfer (SET) and allene C-C bond formation reactions. He had contributed more than 10 publications in the past five years in the major chemistry journals such as Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Sci., Chem. Commun., Chem. Eur. J., Organometallics, etc。Since January 2020, Xin joined  Northeast Normal University, School of Chemistry as a full professor, where he started his independent career . His research interest will turn to the main group elements based material chemistry. In spare time, Xin likes jogging, working out in a gym and basketball. He is a big fan of Kobe Bryant.
