Dr. Chen received his bachelor's and doctoral degrees from The City University of Hong Kong and did postdoctoral research at The Ohio State University's School of Pharmacy. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Quantitative Biology, College of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University and Precision Medicine Center, Luohu People's Hospital, Shenzhen. He joined the Department of Biological Sciences of Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University as an assistant professor in 2024.

- Biomolecular Dynamics Artificial Intelligence (AI4Science)

- Human immune synapses

- Bacterial membrane protein assembly

- CRISPR genome editing tool

- Design of protein mechanical molecular glue
