Liu Zihan, a second-year master's student of the group, published a paper in a journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Region III.

Under the supervision of Mr Lu Hailin, Zihan Liu, a second-year master's student of the research group, has published a paper as the second author in the journal of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In this study, we propose to use laser surface remelting technology for the secondary treatment of MAO coatings to cover the porous structure of the coating surface with melt and exclude the pores in order to further improve the coating performance. The coating properties were characterised by friction and electrochemical experiments, and the results showed that the secondary treatment of MAO coatings by laser surface remelting could effectively improve the abrasion and corrosion resistance of the coatings and significantly reduce the coefficient of friction. In addition, the reasons for the improvement of coating properties by laser surface remelting are explained in detail.
