In this paper, superhydrophobic coatings are prepared on 6061 aluminium alloy by combining microarc oxidation technology and self-assembly of perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane. The superhydrophobic coatings possess corrosion and abrasion resistance and self-cleaning ability, which effectively improve the shortcomings of MAO coatings that are susceptible to liquid erosion due to micropores and microcracks, and provide an effective surface protection strategy for aluminium alloys in harsh environments.
