Dai Ke, a second-year master's student in the group, published a paper as the first author in a journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Region II under the guidance of Mr Lu Hailin. In this study, polyurethane (Pur), a lightweight wear-resistant and stable polymer material with nickel paint was piggybacked onto the surface of 3k carbon fibre cloth by high pressure using a pull-pressure all-in-one machine to form a one-sided cladding electromagnetic shielding composite material. Through the nickel particles on the surface of carbon fibre cloth to form a new conductive network structure, and rely on its weak magnetic enhancement of the composite material conductivity and magnetic permeability impedance mismatch, so as to achieve high electromagnetic shielding performance. Electromagnetic wave absorption is the main mechanism of electromagnetic shielding of composites, which greatly reduces the harm caused by the secondary reflection of electromagnetic waves. The simple fabrication process, the excellent mechanical properties of thin, light, flexible and wear-resistant, and the highly efficient electromagnetic shielding performance make this material provide new ideas for electromagnetic shielding material design in various fields and are expected to be applied in practice.
