Stanford University recently released this year's list of the top 2 per cent of the world's leading scientists. The ranking was released by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis' team at Stanford University and Elsevier Data Repository under Elsevier, based on the Scopus database as well as scoring based on the indicators of six key factors: total citations, h-index, hm-factor, solo authors, solo or first authors, solo, first or last author article citations, the world's top 2% of scientists were screened from nearly 7 million scientists across arts, sciences and engineering disciplines, including 22 fields and 176 subfields.
