【摘要】: Generally, isocyanate and polyol are two raw materials for the synthesis of polyurethane (PU). In the past, petroleum-based polyols have dominated the synthesis of PU because of their high hydroxyl content. However, biobased materials have attracted increasing attention because of a series of environmental problems and production safety caused by the depletion and overexploitation of fossil resources. Biobased materials possess many advantages, such as being economically reasonable, being environmentally friendly, and having a wide range of sources such as agricultural byproducts. Among all biobased polyols, vegetable oil is considered an environmentally friendly and renewable material that can replace conventional polyols from petroleum. Some isocyanate-free strategies have been also employed to replace the isocyanate and phosgene used in the production process. In this chapter, the green materials for the synthesis of PU materials are summarized in detail.
